ABOUT DORNOCH & CO.

A broader perspective.
A more human approach.

Behind every investment is a reason. A future you’re building. A business you believe in. A possibility worth understanding. We believe the experience of investing should start there.

✳
INDEPENDENT THINKING.
CONNECTED PERSPECTIVES.
THE DORNOCH PHILOSOPHY — 01
“Progress begins with
a better question.”
01 / WHY WE EXIST

Make room for
better decisions.

Investing should connect your financial decisions with the life you want to build.

Dornoch & Co. brings together equity investing, alternative investment opportunities, portfolio thinking, and financial education around a simple idea: understanding should come before action. Our purpose is to make the important questions easier to ask—and the information behind each decision easier to navigate.

Our investment scope also includes agribusiness, medical and life sciences, and other private-business or real-asset opportunities. These require sector-specific due diligence and careful consideration of liquidity, valuation, holding periods, and loss of capital. That means looking beyond a share-price movement to the business beneath it. Considering a new holding alongside the rest of a portfolio. And understanding costs and risks before deciding whether an opportunity is right for you.

We value a considered process over a compelling prediction. Markets will always be uncertain. A clear understanding of what you own, why you own it, and what could go wrong is a stronger place to begin.

OUR POINT OF VIEW

Access opens the door.
Understanding moves you forward.

Technology can make markets more accessible. Its greater purpose is to help people see the choices in front of them with more clarity.

02 / HOW WE THINK

One philosophy.
Three connected disciplines.

A thoughtful investment experience brings research, execution, and ongoing review together. Each discipline supports the others.

01

Understand the investment.

Begin with the fundamentals. Consider how a company generates revenue, the durability of its business, the strength of its finances, and the assumptions built into its valuation. For funds, examine the underlying exposure, methodology, and costs.

RESEARCH WITH CONTEXT
02

Make the decision deliberately.

Connect the opportunity with your time horizon and tolerance for loss. Review position size, dealing currency, order type, liquidity, and estimated charges. Under the proposed service policy, clients cannot cancel or amend an order or trade instruction once placed. Placement does not itself confirm execution or settlement. A clear process helps separate a considered decision from a reaction to market noise.

ACT WITH INTENTION
03

Keep the whole picture in view.

Review how individual holdings contribute to overall concentration and risk. Changes in your circumstances can matter as much as changes in markets. Revisit the reasons behind an investment, rather than judging it by short-term performance alone.

REVIEW WITH PERSPECTIVE
03 / WHAT GUIDES US

Principles that belong
in the everyday details.

Our values describe the experience we are designing—from the language on a screen to the way a difficult question is answered.

↗

Clarity before complexity

Explain products, costs, and limitations in language people can use. Detail should make a decision easier to understand, not harder to question.

◎

Respect for risk

Give potential losses the same attention as potential returns. A useful conversation includes uncertainty, concentration, liquidity, and downside scenarios.

↔

Perspective over pressure

Make space for research and reflection. Avoid urgency for its own sake, and help investors distinguish a long-term objective from a short-term impulse.

✳

Accountability in practice

Make responsibilities, service boundaries, and escalation routes visible. Listen to questions and use feedback to identify where the experience needs to improve.

04 / BUILT AROUND PEOPLE

Different starting points.
Shared expectations.

You may be making your first investment or refining an established portfolio. Either way, clear information and a usable process matter.

THE LONG-TERM INVESTOR

Build with a purpose.

Connect your investments with your goals, available time, and ability to withstand losses. Understand the role each holding is intended to play and review it as circumstances evolve.

THE SELF-DIRECTED TRADER

Bring discipline to each decision.

Combine market awareness with a defined process. Understand order behaviour, liquidity, costs, and position sizing before committing capital.

THE CURIOUS LEARNER

Start with understanding.

Develop the vocabulary and habits that support informed decisions. Explore ownership, diversification, valuation, and execution without mistaking education for personal advice.

05 / RESPONSIBILITY & OVERSIGHT

Trust needs substance.

Company credentials should be specific, checkable, and attached to the correct legal entity. These are the details a real firm must make available.

✳

Questions worth asking
of any investment firm.

Who provides the service? Where are assets held? What protection applies? What happens if something goes wrong?

Client Concierge
Legal entity and regulatory permissions

Confirm the exact contracting entity, its registration number, applicable regulator, and permitted activities. A trading name alone does not establish authorisation.

Asset custody and client money

Before funding an account, review which institution holds your assets and cash, how ownership is recorded, and the rules that apply if the firm or a third-party provider fails. No custody arrangements or investor-protection coverage are asserted for this concept.

Execution, charges, and conflicts

Review the order-execution policy, full fee schedule, foreign-exchange arrangements, and potential conflicts of interest. Understand how the firm and any relevant third parties are paid, including commissions, rebates, or other incentives.

Security and operational resilience

Ask about authentication, account-recovery procedures, incident handling, and service interruptions. Protect your own credentials and verify unexpected payment instructions through an established contact route. Specific controls must be confirmed by the operating firm.

Complaints and escalation

A published complaints process should explain how to raise a concern, expected response times, and any independent dispute-resolution route that applies.

06 / PEOPLE & EXPERTISE

Different disciplines.
A connected responsibility.

A credible investment business depends on more than a trading interface. These are the responsibilities behind a well-run service.

INVESTMENT & RESEARCH

Ask the right questions.

Evaluate information sources, communicate balanced analysis, and make the distinction between general education and personal recommendations clear.

TECHNOLOGY & OPERATIONS

Make the details work.

Design reliable workflows, accessible interfaces, and clear account information. Plan for exceptions and give clients visibility when processes need attention.

RISK & COMPLIANCE

Keep responsibilities visible.

Define service boundaries, oversee controls, and challenge how products and communications are presented. Make escalation part of the operating process.

Named executives, biographies, professional qualifications, and committee memberships will be added once verified firm details are supplied.
